This air lock coupler prevents air from getting into the pump after disconnection from the drum or IBC, & therefore prevents adblue crystal damage to the pump.

Adblue crystallizes with exposure to air, so the purpose of this coupler is to prevent air from getting into the lines when the drum or IBC is changed. It operates by immediately sealing off the break point when disconnected - similar to the way a hydraulic QRC connector functions.
Crystallization can wreck a pump very quickly, so use one of these couplings to protect your investment.
